December Days Out in Charles County

County-wide holiday merriment kicked off early this year – from early Christmas tree demand to November light displays. Throughout Charles County, businesses and organizations have doubled down on festivity, making weekend offerings merry and bright. If you’re wondering how to best spend your time leading up to 2021, we have a few ideas below!

Festivity for Families

Start your day with a traditional Christmas pastry at Walls Bakery of Waldorf. Their efficient ordering system will satisfy your sweet tooth in no time. Then, head to Scary Strokes for mini golf. See the twinkling lights of Southern Maryland’s Holly Jolly Light Trail as the days grow darker. This delightful “trail” of decorated dwellings will leave everyone smiling. Plot your course past 270 glittering (and Griswoldian) displays.

For lights against an open sky, A Not So Silent Night is on December 12 at the Charles County Fairgrounds. Proceeds from this synchronized, pyrotechnic show support the Southern Maryland Food Bank. Tickets options range from “park and view” to spaced areas for chairs and blankets.
