I had this product before, and the sound was crazy good, so when my first pair broke recently from lack of charging, I thought I would het the same quality sound, but to my dismay I didn’t.

The bass on these were not as good as some $30 ones I just bought. Way overly expensive for the quality. Sorry Dr. Dre I really wanted to support your business but I can not stand behind these. Maybe bring down the price point.

As an owner of a pair of Powerbeats 2 Wireless that had worked perfectly for 3 years before I accidently broke one of the ear hooks, ordering the latest version was never going to be a hard decision when the time came.
My previous pair of Powerbeats had great sound, battery life and unlike some of the comments I never had any issues with sweat breaking them. The only real issue I had was the material that the controls were made from as it would leave a red mark on my shirt collar on my commute. (so, I peeled it off and problem solved)
The Powerbeats 3 arrived and the first thing I did was get them paired up to my iPhone, extremely easy thanks to the new chip Apple designed! I got an instant notification on my phone saying that there was a pair of Powerbeats ready to be connected.
This is where things nearly went wrong for me…
I straight away put the largest earbuds on and started to play some music through Spotify and I was horrified with the audio quality. It almost sounded like they were faulty as there was no depth to the music at all, I would compare the quality to the Earpods that ship with the iPhone.
I immediately paired my Powerbeats 2 and the difference was night and day, so something was seriously up with the new pair… I decided to let them play for a while before I decided that they weren’t up to scratch and filed a refund with Amazon.
I was planning to take them to work on the Monday and drop them off at the nearest place to be sent back, but during the weekend I decided to swap the buds from the old pair to the new pair. This completely changed the sound! I think that because the new buds hadn’t been worn before they struggled to make a proper seal inside my ear, which would explain the appalling sound quality when I first tried to listen to them.
Since then, I cancelled the refund and have used them for nearly two weeks and they have been great. They are definitely a little quiet in comparison to the old pair, and I also think that the bass isn’t as deep but not noticeable enough for me to be dissatisfied.
Overall I would still recommend them, they have come down in price a little since release which is a bonus, but I hope that the next pair of Powerbeats released are “truly wireless” as I nearly opted for the Bose ones until I read the reviews!

What a great product BUT something very important…… [please see update]

They DO NOT have noise cancelling capabilities like the ad states. I have written to Amazon telling them to take it off. However, when I replaced the out the box buds with the right ones for me (largest pair), the ambient noise was reduced SO much I was very pleased. So what with that and the quality of the sound I definitely give it 5 stars! I bought these when they were £135 and I would say they are definitely worth it.

07/02/2019 – This is the SECOND time I have to send these back for the exact same reason! After about 3 months going to the gym with them (3-5 times a week) the inline controller starts to play up. The first time I had issues with the up/down volume and start/stop button were re-mapped, so the up was stop, down was up and stop was skip! I called Amazon and all they could do was give me Beats support. They sent me a box and I had to send the product back to them, they had it for a week (so no music at the gym for a week) then sent me a “new” pair. Fast forward 3 months and the exact same thing!!! Amazon said I cannot get a refund (they used to give refunds much easier years ago so something has changed there too…) BUT if it happens again for the third time then they will. Not happy at all and I believe it to be a design fault, so I am reducing this to a ONE star and will advise AVOID this product. I bought a cheap pair of TaoTronics about 3 years ago and they are working JUST fine, so I will NOT be buying any Beats products again and will stick with TaoTronics.

Die Powerbeats 3 verweigern nun, nachdem sie bereits nach knapp 7-8 Monaten nicht mehr funktionierten und vom Hersteller repariert wurden, erneut den Dienst. Das äußert sich darin, dass sie sich trotz vollem Akkustand nicht mehr einschalten lassen. Dieses Problem scheint jeder Kunde mit den Kopfhörern früher oder später zu haben. Sie kommen bei mir wöchtenlich 3-4 für je 1 – 1,5 Stunden zu Einsatz. Ich bin also kein täglicher Dauernutzer.
Echt Schade, die Soundqualität ist super, aber was bringt mir das, wenn ich den Artikel alle paar Monate zur Reperatur einschicken muss.

Very poor reliability – not recomended

I purchased these headphones over other brands principally because of their Bluetooth range and battery life. Whilst the range is good (and the battery life OK) they have disappointed in pretty much every other area.
Worst of all has been their reliability; in 18 months I have had 3 separate pairs, all of which have failed. Initially with each pair the remote become (more) un-responsive, and eventually the headphones stop charging or turning on at all.
Whilst Apple have been very good in replacing them under warranty, it is unacceptable that headphones of this price fail so frequently. For the record, none of the sets have had any visible damage, and I have never before had headphones fail on me.
Sound quality is passable and comfort is pretty good – but ultimately these are not well made items, and I would really struggle to recommend these to any one. Buy something else.

Great until the faults started two weeks in….

These headphones were great initially. Quick to charge, good battery life and a great fit with little or no movement when running. Then after two weeks they developed the popular fault. First they turned off for no reason half way through a run and then they would only work after a hard reset each time. Finally I got red and white flashing lights and then no charge at all. They don’t even turn on now so I guess it’s a battery fault. Full refund from Amazon which is great but, with this being a popular fault I’m reluctant to re-buy. Looking at Bose as an alternative.
