Alfred Enoch ‘made it’ in face off with Viola Davis on How to Get Away with Murder
Despite starring in seven Harry Potter films, the actor had a startling moment of self-realisation when he appeared in How to Get Away with Murder.
Viola Davis presented with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Alfred Enoch, 33, starred as Dean Thomas in the Harry Potter franchise and then grew to international stardom with his role as Wes Gibbons in How To Get Away With Murder. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk the humble actor revealed how a simple chair made him realise he was now acting in the big leagues with Viola Davis.
The British-Brazilian actor appeared at the opening gala of Raindance Film Festival in London, sporting a dapper suit and bowtie and a trimmed moustache.
Now, Alfred has been acting for over two decades having first been cast in Harry Potter when he was just 11.
Despite spending over a decade in the wizarding world, Alfred wasn’t truly convinced that he was a star just yet.
His role as Dean was relatively small compared to the golden trio, and he told Express.co.uk that his childhood was not interrupted by his work.

Just three years after Harry Potter wrapped Alfred then landed the role in ABC legal drama How To Get Away With Murder.
The show became an international sensation, with Hollywood veteran Viola Davis, 57, as its lead Annalise Keating.
Alfred recalled his daunting first week on set for the legal drama, when he ended up having a scene with just him and the acting legend.
Earlier in the day, the cast had shot a big group scene, meaning the entire ensemble cast had been together.

Alfred noted this in itself was a great experience to have on the third day of shooting, but he was busy mentally preparing to face-off.
As the group scene ended, most cast members left, leaving just Alfred and Viola behind.
He said: “Everyone went home and I was hanging around thinking about the lines, thinking about the next scenes.”
Motioning to a corner, he continued: “They had those generic directors’ chairs.
“There’s one that had my name on it and right next to it one with [Viola’s] name.
Trying to keep his giddiness from overwhelming him, he added: “And I was like ‘Huh, this is cool’ and we did the scene.”
Viola has since gone on to achieve even greater levels of fame since the series wrapped at the beginning of 2020.
She has become part of the DC universe originating the role of Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad, with many fans comparing her character to Nick Fury of comic rival Marvel as she is set to appear in Black Adam and Peacemaker.
Most recently Viola has been hailed for her leading role in the new action film The Woman King.
Alfred highlighted that he’s “been lucky with the people I’ve worked with” but that this is not his favourite memory of life off-camera, although he can’t remember what his favourite is.
Accidentally emphasising his point, the actor notes multiple times during our conversation: “My memory’s not great.
“I must be the most oblivious person, between my memory and the fact that I’m an easily distracted person.
“I’m usually like ‘Oh that’s cool!’ in the middle of a performance.”
