Mechanical Bosses

The Mechanical Bosses are major antagonists in sandbox video game Terraria. They are each a mechanical reproduction of Cthulhu’s three lost body parts and an enhanced version of the three bosses in pre-hardmode.

Biography

The Lunatic Cultist who leads the Cultists of the Dungeon, kidnapped Mechanic and made her create Mechanical Bosses, and they are created as reproducing Cthulhu’s eyes, spine and skeleton. Each of them closely resembles three pre-hardmode bosses; Eater of Worlds, Eye of Cthulhu, and Skeletron; and two of them are considered to be body parts that Cthulhu lost. They have their own unique souls, which seem to be the driving force behind each of them.

They appear at night by the use of their summoning items or spontaneously after destroying demon/crimson alter, and if it occurs spontaneously, it appears some time after the unique status message is displayed. Once they are all defeated, buds will appear in the jungle to summon Plantera.

Members

The Destroyer

The Destroyer is the mechanical replica of Cthulhu’s spine and closely resembles the appearance of the Eater of Worlds. It appears through the use of Mechanical Worm, the summon item or spontaneously. It moves freely through the ground like Eater of Worlds by its many wheels, but on the other hand, attacking the body does not cause the body to separate; instead, it separates the round enemies called Probes to attack the Players. When it is defeated, it drops the Soul of Might, the blue soul.

Probes

Probes are round enemies separated from The Destroyer and embedded in its body as an institution for its usually attacks with lasers. However, after a certain amount of damage, they automatically separate from the body and attack the Players with lasers individually.

The Twins

The Twins are the pair of Retinazer that emits lasers and Spazmatism that radiates Cursed Flame and appears through use of Mechanical Eye, the summon item or spontaneously. They are mechanical replicas of the Cthulhu’s eyes and closely resemble the appearance of the Eye of Cthulhu. In their first form they are almost identical to the Eye of Cthulhu except for the color of their iris, but in their second form they reveal their mechanical appearance. They each have individual trophies, both of which are components they use in their attacks. When it is defeated, it drops the Soul of Sight, the green soul.

In Don’t Starve, they appear in place of Eye of Terror as a pair of bosses called Twins of Terror. Twins of Terror is mechanical in appearance from its first form, and when it comes to the second form, both reveal a mouth with fangs bared, just like Eye of Terror.

Skeletron Prime

Skeletron Prime is the mechanical reprica of Skeletron, the Cthulhu’s skeleton that haunts the dungeon, that appear when the Mechanical Skull, the summon item is used. When it makes a rush attack, it raises all of its limbs above its head, as in the case of the origin, and rushes forward while its skull is spinning, but then the skull is protruding a number of spines. Although not mentioned in the official game lore or Bestiary, it is considered that the identity is Skeletron himself or him, who has transferred to the “Skeletron Prime”, by fans. When it is defeated, it drops the Soul of Fright, the orange soul.

Mechdusa

Mechdusa is a boss that is a combination of all Mechanical Bosses that appear only in Zenith World (Get fixed boi), the secret world seed. Each part has its own HP, and the reality is that you are fighting against all Mechanical Bosses. The spinal cord is The Destroyer, the head and arms are Skeletron Prime, and both eyes are The Twins, each of which is responsible for what corresponds as a reproduction of a part of Cthulhu, effectively an incomplete reproduction of Cthulhu.
