Minecraft: How to Make Concrete

There are many decorative blocks in Minecraft that you can use to create different builds. Terracotta, quartz, wool, wood and stone bricks are examples of blocks often used in building. Another block known for its bright colors and smooth texture is concrete. However, to get concrete, you must first make concrete powder. By the end of this guide, you will learn how to craft concrete powder and make concrete in Minecraft.

How to Make Concrete in Minecraft

Before you can make concrete in Minecraft, you must acquire concrete powder. To make concrete powder, you must use four sand, four gravel, and the dye of your choice. The dye you use will determine the color of the concrete powder you craft. The image above shows the crafting recipe for it. It does not matter where you place the sand, gravel and dye on the crafting grid. You will get eight concrete powders from this crafting recipe.

Once you obtain the concrete powder, you must use a water block to turn the powder into regular concrete. The water can be flowing, still, or waterlogged. However, you cannot use rainwater, cauldrons or water bottles to make concrete. Your concrete powder must come into direct contact with the water. Concrete is often used in building, particularly when making roads or structures like houses and skyscrapers. Due to its color saturation compared to blocks such as terracotta, concrete is frequently used for builds with many contrasting colors. Additionally, you can use concrete powder in building as long as it is not placed next to water.
