Love Island has named cast members who will be heading to the villa when the new series kicks off.

The dating show has not been on our screens since February 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but ITV 2 says Love Island’s 2021 summer edition will go ahead from Monday June 28.

Due to quarantine restrictions, this year’s contestants are all in quarantine ahead of the show’s launch.

Love Island 2021 line-up confirmed

Today, Love Island is revealing who will be joining the cast and heading to the villa in Majorca.

Sharon Gaffka was the first female contestant confirmed to join the lineup. She is a 25-year-old model from Didcot, Oxfordshire and won the 2018 Miss International UK competition. Sharon has worked for the Government since she was 18.

Love Island says: “Sharon has conquered beauty pageants, worked on government policies and is now ready to take on the villa.”

Asked what she was looking for in a romantic partner, she said, according to Mirror Online: “I have this thing where if something doesn’t work out with one person, I’ll try and go for the other extreme to see if that works out.

“I tend to date someone who is taller than me, even though my last long-term partner, he was actually someone who was shorter than me. I’m quite an intellectual person so I want someone who can kind of match that.”

Her fellow contestants are being revealed throughout Monday.

They include a waitress, Liberty Poole from Birmingham, who ITV2 say is “looking for a summer of love after lockdown” but has a tendency to date “players” and Scottish lass Shannon Singh, who claims to have “blinding banter” and is looking for a match who can say the same.

Shannon said: “I don’t feed off looks, I feed off energy, I need someone with personality. Just someone I can have fun with. I’m a party girl, I love going out, I’m very social. For me it’s quite hard to find people who are genuine and looking for what you’re looking for. I’m not just going to go with anyone because they’re convenient. I need to make sure they’re for me. Looks – obviously, they’ve got to be handsome, but if he’s a handsome hunk but it’s like talking to a brick wall and I’d rather watch paint dry, it’s not going to be great.”

Fashion blogger Kaz Kamwi, from Essex, is also heading to the villa.

She said: “I’m fun, dramatic, spontaneous. Friendly as well. Light-hearted. Life is a party – I’m not the mum in the group, my friends are not looking at me to look after them!

Financial marketing executive Chloe Burrows is also moving into the villa, she hopes to meet a dream funny man..

She said: “I like a good build. I go to the gym. I want someone who is funny. Really funny and caring and will do nice little things for you. And then obviously someone who you can depend on to not ditch you. Because I am quite a big character and quite loud, they would have to be as loud, if not more. I could never be with someone who is quiet. Someone that gives you a bit back.”

Another girl heading into the villa this year is Faye Winters.

When asked where she’d like to see herself in five years time, lettings manager Faye said: “I would like my own estate agency or my own charity shop.

“I want someone who I can go on holidays and stuff with for the next couple of years, and have a really fun time.

“And then start thinking about kids and serious things in three or four years’ time.

Faye Winter, an estate agent from Devon, is also joining the cast.

ITV2 has pledged to take contestants’ welfare seriously and is asking viewers interacting on social media to be kind in the wake of trolling previous contestants have experienced. The islanders are also being trained in finance management to prepare them for potential fame when they leave the show.
