You’ve finished wrapping the gift box, and now just need to tie one more pretty bow and it’s perfect. Pre-made bows are sold in stores, but if the gift box has a ribbon wrapped around the box and tied into a bow, it will be even better. Bow ties are easy, and once you know the basics, you can try more unique embellishments, such as criss-crossing or interwoven ribbons.

Loop the ribbon to the bottom of the box and up over the lid. Pick up the box again. Pull the long end of the ribbon until it sticks out of the other side of the box. Put the box back down. [5]

Cut 4 ribbons to wrap the length of the box. You will need 4 ribbons long enough to wrap around the length of the box, plus another 5cm. [12]

Wrap the ribbons around the box and secure with double-sided tape. Glue the ribbons one at a time, don’t glue them all at once. Pull the ribbons tight around the box for a tight fit. The ends of the ribbon will overlap by about 2.5 cm. [15]

Glue the second set of ribbons just above the first set of ribbons. Glue a strip of double-sided tape on top of each short ribbon. Line up the ribbons just above the first long strand, making sure the ribbon ends are perpendicular to each other. [16]
