Using cactus and lava is a fun way to kill, but if you want to see something more exciting and explosive, you’ll probably want to give TNT a try. TNT is an explosive that is mainly used to trap and torture other players. This explosive can also work during mining, although it may not be very effective. Normally, TNT is only used for traps and cannons. Before creating complex traps, it is best to learn how to detonate TNT first.

Search for 5 pieces of gunpowder (gunpowder). You will need 5 gunpowder shards to craft a piece of TNT. Gunpowder cannot be crafted, but must be found by defeating certain enemies with a chance to drop gunpowder, or by searching for certain chests with a probability of containing gunpowder:

  • Defeat Creeper (before detonation): 66% (drops 1 or 2 gunpowder)
  • Defeat Hell Ghosts (ghast): 66% (drops 1 or 2 gunpowder)
  • Defeat a witch: 16% (drops 1 to 6 gunpowder)
  • Open chest in desert temple: 59% (containing 1 to 8 gunpowder)
  • Open chest in dungeon (dungeon): 58% (containing 1 to 8 gunpowder)

Take 4 sand blocks. You can use regular sand or red sand. Both of these sands are similar and can be mixed during TNT generation. Typically, you can find sand in the following biomes and areas:

  • Beach (beach)
  • Desert (desert)
  • Riverbank (riverbank)
  • Red sand (mesa)

Use igniter (flint and steel) to ignite the TNT block. This is the simplest way to detonate TNT. You can learn how to make an igniter yourself. Take the igniter and go to the TNT to start the ignition. The TNT block will start to glow when ignited.

  • Make sure you back a safe enough distance before the TNT explodes (4 seconds after being ignited).
  • TNT has an explosion radius of about 7 blocks.

Use flaming arrows to ignite TNT. If you want to be a little safer when detonating TNT, you can use flaming arrows to ignite.

  • You can enchant arrows with fire to set them on fire using the enchantment table. Learn how to craft your own enchantment table and use lapis lazuli to enchant items.
  • You can also ignite arrows by shooting them through fire or lava. As such, you can create fire in front of the TNT block and shoot arrows through it to ignite the arrow and detonate the TNT.

Use fire charge to ignite TNT. You can craft fireballs by placing charcoal (charcoal) in the center of the crafting frame, blaze powder to the left, and gunpowder below. Fireballs are not as effective as igniters, as you will lose them when you throw them away.

  • Throw fireballs at TNT to ignite. You can throw a fireball by selecting it in your inventory, then using the item.
  • When placing a fireball in the dispenser, it will be fired like a fireball when activated. This is not very useful against TNT because fireballs are fired at random angles.

Detonate TNT with another TNT explosion. Any TNT within the explosion radius of another TNT will be ignited and detonated. Unlike TNT that you actively ignite which always explodes after 4 seconds, TNT that is detonated with an explosion will explode after 0.5 to 1.5 seconds.

  • Since the explosion doesn’t have an exact radius, make sure your TNT fits inside the explosion, no more than 3 or four blocks away from the first exploding TNT.

Pour lava or ignite near TNT. If lava (lava) flows near TNT, TNT will be detonated as soon as it catches fire. This can happen even if the lava does not flow directly into the TNT. The same thing happened when the area around TNT caught on fire.

Collect redstone powder. Redstone dust is used to create redstone circuits and transmit electricity. For the basic circuit, you will probably need to make up to 15 redstone powder long burst leads. If the conductor is longer, more redstone will be required. [2] X Research Source

  • You can only find redstone ore in layers from 0 to 15, in which layers 4 to 13 have the most redstone ores. You’ll need to dig down into the bedrock and begin your hunt for redstone veins. You need iron (iron) or diamond (diamond) pickaxes to mine redstone ore.
  • One block of redstone ore can be crafted into 9 piles of redstone powder. You will usually earn 4 or 5 redstone powder every time you mine redstone ore.
  • You can find redstone powder in chests in dungeons and fortresses (stronghpd). The witch can drop redstone powder when defeated. Jungle temple has a trap containing 15 redstone powder. In the secret room there may be more.

Image titled Blow Up TNT in Minecraft Step 13

{“smallUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images_en/thumb/c/cd/Blow-Up-TNT-in-Minecraft-Step-13.jpg/v4-728px-Blow-Up-TNT- in-Minecraft-Step-13.jpg”,”bigUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/c/cd/Blow-Up-TNT-in-Minecraft-Step-13.jpg/ v4-728px-Blow-Up-TNT-in-Minecraft-Step-13.jpg”,”smallWidth”:460,”smallHeight”:345,”bigWidth”:728,”bigHeight”:546,”licensing”:” <div class=”mw-parser-output”></div>”}
Create a switch mechanism. There are different mechanisms you can use to detonate a redstone circuit:

  • Button – This item is placed next to a complete block and provides redstone power when pressed. You can craft a stone button by placing a stone block in the box in the center of the crafting frame. You can make wooden buttons (wood) by placing as many wooden boards as you can in the middle box.
  • Lever – The lever is placed on any hard surface and can power the redstone on or off. You can craft the lever by placing the stick in the middle of the crafting frame and the cobblestone below.
  • Pressure plate – This is a button that is pressed automatically when you stand in. The main difference between the pressure sensor disc and the two above is that monsters can activate the pressure sensor disc, so this is very suitable as a trap. You can craft a pressure sensor disc by placing a block of stone or wood in the center of the frame and a similar block to the left.

{“smallUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images_en/thumb/5/5c/Blow-Up-TNT-in-Minecraft-Step-14.jpg/v4-728px-Blow-Up-TNT- in-Minecraft-Step-14.jpg”,”bigUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/5/5c/Blow-Up-TNT-in-Minecraft-Step-14.jpg/ v4-728px-Blow-Up-TNT-in-Minecraft-Step-14.jpg”,”smallWidth”:460,”smallHeight”:345,”bigWidth”:728,”bigHeight”:546,”licensing”:” <div class=”mw-parser-output”></div>”}
Create the basic circuit. Now that you have the redstone powder and the switch mechanism, you can create the basic circuit:

  • Apply the switch mechanism somewhere you can use it. This will be the remote detonation mechanism, so make sure you can see the explosion.
  • Place the redstone powder into the wire to where you want the TNT to be placed. The first piece of dough should be near the switch mechanism. You can place redstone powder by looking at a block and right-clicking while equipping it. Redstone ore can connect to a floor above or below, and the full length must be 15 blocks or less.

Place TNT at the end of the redstone conductor. This is the end position of the circuit and will activate the TNT block. Make sure the TNT block is on the same floor as the end of the wire, and right next to the last redstone powder block.

Activate the circuit. Now after placing TNT you can activate the circuit using the mechanism. After activating the redstone circuit, TNT will immediately be set to explode. After 4 seconds, TNT will explode.

Try creating more complex circuits. If you use redstone torches, you can create advanced logic doors that detonate lots of TNT from a distance every a certain amount of time. You can learn how to make and use a redstone lamp yourself, an integral part of the larger redstone circuit.
  • Advice

    • TNT is great for clearing large swaths of land when mining, but be careful as there’s a high chance that you’ll destroy many of the materials you would otherwise have obtained with a pickaxe. As such, you should avoid using TNT near veins containing a lot of valuable ore.
    • Protect yourself from TNT explosion. If you (or the monster) are sitting in a mine truck, you will only take minimal damage from the TNT explosion. In this case, you can detonate from quite a distance.
    • Obsidian, bedrock, and liquid sources are not affected by TNT explosions. This allows you to create bomb shelters or even cannons to shoot TNT.
    • The bed will act like TNT in the nether and the end, NOT the same role in the real world.
    • TNT is the tool of destruction and teasing for players who love to tease others.
    • The ignited TNT will not collide with other ignited TNT.
    • TNT is the only thing created for the purpose of detonating. Explosions can be created in a way that is more difficult to control, such as exploding beds when used in Hell or the End Zone, or when approaching Creeper causing it to explode.
    • If TNT explodes in water, it will not destroy any structures. However, if a player or other entity is within the explosion radius, it can easily take damage.
    • If you’re playing old version of Minecraft and have TNT in your house, add water so it doesn’t explode.
    • There is a way to ignite the TNT remotely without searching for redstone, an enchanted book, or an enchanted table is to use a wooden pressure sensor disc (it cannot be used), place it next to the TNT and shoot arrows at it. Wooden buttons also work, but will be harder to hit.

    Warning

    • Too much TNT will cause the game to lag, so you should be careful. The bigger the explosion, the more CPU (central processing unit) power it consumes and can cause lags in single player and jerks in multiplayer.
    • It is best to stay away from TNT after ignition. Otherwise, you may get blown up.
    • After the TNT is ignited it will explode because you cannot undo.
