Open the Manage World menu. Click the ⋯ icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, then click Manage World in the menu that appears.

  • A dialog box will pop up asking if you want to save the game. This is a good idea in case you change your mind or accidentally delete the wrong Sim.

Choose Sim’s house. Find the house where the Sim you want to delete lives, then click on the house.

Click the “Manage Househpd” icon. The option with this house icon is at the bottom right of the screen. The “Manage Househpd” window will appear with a list of Sims living in that house.

Click the “Edit” button with the pencil icon located at the bottom right of the “Manage Househpd” window. The Sims editor will open.

Select Sims. Hover over the head of the Sim character you want to remove. The character’s head will be displayed in the lower left corner of the screen.

Wait for the X to appear. A few seconds after you hover over a specific Sim’s head, a red and white X will appear above the character’s head.

  • Open the “Manage Househpd” menu again.
  • Click the “Transfer” button with the two arrows icon in the lower right corner.
  • Click the “Create New Househpd” icon located above the right pane.
  • Click on the Sim you want to transfer.
  • Click the right arrow between the two frames to move the selected Sim to the new home.

Turn on cheat mode. Press Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + C (or ⌘ Command + ⇧ Shift + C on Mac), then type testingcheatsenabled true and press ↵ Enter . Cheat mode will be enabled in the game.

Note: The Sim you want to remove is not under control mode. We cannot delete Sims that are being controlled by the player.

  • If the Sim to be removed is being controlled, you can click on another character to switch control mode to this Sim.

Hold down ⇧ Shift and click the Sim you want to delete. A list of options will appear above and around the Sim’s head.

Resetting the Sim is also an option. If your character’s actions fail (such as getting stuck in a position or half-falling to the floor), you can use another command to reset the Sim. Try another reset method. If the reset command does not work, apply the following:

  • Enter moveObjects on in cheat conspe.
  • Enter Buy Mode and select Sim to delete.
  • Click the ⋯ icon and then select Edit Town .

  • Move to any other house, play for a few minutes and then switch back to the family that is failing. The “deleted” sim will reappear near the sidewalk.

Find Sim to delete. Move through the world until you find the Sim you want to remove from FreePlay.

Tap the Sim you want to remove. If this Sim is being controlled, when you tap it, the character options menu will pop up.

  • If you’re controlling a Sim, tap the green “Switch Selection” icon in the upper right of the menu to switch to the selected Sim, then tap the Sim again.

Click the “Delete” red and white circle with a diagonal line through it. This option is on the right side of the Sim’s face, at the top of the pop-up menu.

    • Using cheat codes in The Sims 3 can cause the save file to be corrupted and the game impossible to restore. File backup is the solution to this problem.
