How to Insert a File into a Word Document

• To create a new document, click the New option in the file menu.

• On a Mac, click Text to expand the group.

• Click Object… to insert a PDF file, an image, or some other type of file other than text into the Word document. Then click From File… on the left side of the open dialog box.
  • If you want to insert a link to a file or its icon instead of the entire document, click Options on the left side of the dialog box and check Link to File , Display as Icon (Show as Icon) or both.
• Click Text from File… to insert content from a text file or other Word document into the current document.
