Steps

Prepare dragon fruit

Buy dragon fruit. If you are in the US, finding dragon fruit is relatively difficult, depending on where you live. Dragon fruit is usually sold in Asia but in the US and Europe it is very rare. If your local grocery store doesn’t sell it, you can find it at Asian grocery stores.
Choose ripe fruit. Dragon fruit must have bright red or pink skin. Similar to kiwi or peach, dragon fruit is only delicious when ripe.

  • Click on the dragon fruit. If the flesh is slightly sunken, the dragon fruit is ripe. If it is soft when pressed, it is overcooked and no longer tasty. If it feels hard when pressed, you have to wait a few more days before eating.
  • Avoid choosing fruit with dark streaks or bruises, dried brown spots on the skin, or dried leaves.
Cut the dragon fruit in half. Use a sharp knife to cut the dragon fruit in half. You will see a white flesh that looks similar to a kiwi fruit with the black seeds evenly dispersed inside the flesh.

  • If you are using the oven rack, place the fruit on a baking tray and place it in the oven. Bake for about 2 minutes then remove the baking tray, turn the bottom side up, and place in the oven to bake for another 2 minutes.

Remove the skewers from the grill. Place the grilled skewers on a plate and enjoy immediately after adding the sugar.

Make dragon fruit smoothie

Prepare fruit. Dragon fruit can be combined with bananas, berries and any other fruit that you want to use to make a smoothie.

  • Cut the dragon fruit in half. Use a spoon to separate the flesh from the shell and chop it.
  • Peel a banana. Cut into small pieces.
  • Wash about 400g of blueberries.
Select the liquid part. The flesh of the dragon fruit is often delicious when combined with a fatty liquid. You can choose one of the following categories:

  • Plain or flavored Greek yogurt or yogurt.
  • Milk – whole cream, low fat or skim depending on preference.
  • Whole soy milk or your favorite flavor.
  • Nut milk, like almond milk or cashew milk.
Add some other ingredients. If you like smoothies that are sweet and full of flavor, add some of the following ingredients:

  • Apple juice or grape juice
  • A few tablespoons of sugar, syrup or honey.
  • Peanut butter or almond butter.
Put ingredients in blender. Put all the dragon fruit, bananas and blueberries in the blender. Add your liquid of choice and a few tablespoons of your favorite sweetener or nut butter.
Grind all ingredients. Run the blender to grind the ingredients.

  • If you find the smoothie too thick, add a little milk, juice or water to dilute it.
  • If you want a thicker smoothie, add some instant oats.
Put the smoothie in a cup and enjoy. Use a straw to drink your smoothie or, if you have a thick smoothie, use a spoon to eat it.

Make dragon fruit sorbet

Prepare 2 dragon fruit. Cut the dragon fruit in half and separate the flesh from the skin from both sides. Then cut the dragon fruit into small cubes.

  • The skin of the dragon fruit can be used to make a plate when eating sorbet ice cream. Put the crust in the freezer if you want to use it while eating ice cream.
Blend dragon fruit with other ingredients used to make sorbet. Place the dragon fruit in a blender along with ¾ cup of water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Finely grind all ingredients.
Pour the mixture into the ice cream mold. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for freezing the sorbet.

  • If you don’t have an ice cream mold, you can still make sorbet by following these instructions:
    • Pour the sorbet mixture into the baking tray. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the freezer.
    • After 2 hours, part of the mixture has frozen. Use a spoon to stir the mixture, then cover and continue to put in the freezer.
    • Continue stirring the sorbet every 2 hours, continuously for 8 hours.
    • After 8 hours, let the mixture harden overnight.

  • Scoop the sorbet into the dragon fruit skin. Enjoy with Angel food cake, pound cake or a layer cake.
  • Advice
