Return to normal sleep time. After staying up late one night, it’s important to go back to your normal sleep routine. Go to bed around the time you usually go to bed, or maybe a little earlier than usual, and set your alarm for your usual wake-up time. [21] X Research Source
  • Advice

    • If you are too tired, you can hardly open your eyes, (this is normal in this case), splash water on your face, dip your head in an ice bath, or slap yourself hard. These things may not be very pleasant, but they are effective for keeping you awake.
    • Listen to high volume music, it is better to wear headphones.
    • To keep yourself awake in the morning, have an energy drink or coffee with breakfast, even a soft drink, anything that contains caffeine.
    • Put red stop signs or warning signs around chairs and beds to remind you not to lie down and rest, trust us, if you lie down and start to relax, you will fall asleep and wake up at 5 pm. This will break your sleep cycle!
    • Dancing around the room or playing chess with many people for a long time like billionaire chess to help you stay alert and focused.
    • In the late afternoon (4-5 o’clock), when you start to feel very tired, make a hyphy drink. Brew 15-20 g of instant coffee and a cup of Pepsi water or other carbonated beverage. Take 1 or 2 large sips at first, then slowly drink the rest over an hour. It will keep you awake long enough until you fall down/too tired, you’re ready for a full night’s sleep.
    • Try warming up or taking a warm bath. Warm water will help you relax and reduce anxiety. Or you can also take a hot and cold shower at the same time. This will awaken the senses and increase alertness.

    Warning

    • Do not drive when you are sleep deprived.
    • Avoid staying up all night if you work in an environment where sleepiness can be dangerous to you and others.
    • You may be able to sleep a “micro-sleep” if your alarm goes off or someone wakes you up. Be careful not to sleep longer than the scheduled time.
