Add profile photo. This is your profile picture when using TikTok. To select or take a new photo, you need:
- Tap Profile Photo at the top.
- Tap Take a Photo to use the camera and take a new photo, or tap Select from Photos/Camera Rpl to select one of the photos on your phone or tablet.
- Give TikTok permission to access photos and/or camera if you haven’t already done so.

Add a profile video instead of a photo (optional). If you feel that stills aren’t enough to express your personality on TikTok, you can create a 6-second profile video. When a certain TikTok user likes your profile video, they may follow you for new videos. Here’s how to create a video:
- Tap Profile Video (Tap to create a new video) at the bottom of the page.
- Give TikTok permission to access photos if you haven’t already done so.
- Select videos on your phone or tablet.
- Drag the sliders on either side to select 6 seconds of video.
- Tap Done to save the new video.

Tap Name to edit the name. Your display name is the first line at the top of the page. After adding a new name, you need to tap Save in the upper-right corner of the page.

Tap on TikTok ID to change it. The TikTok ID is on the second line near the human figure. You can change this name every 30 days. You need to tap Save in the upper right corner of the screen to save your changes.
