Steps
Identify and redeem your YouTube video license
- You will see the Standard YouTube License available in that combo box. This shows that, when you first upload a video to YouTube, this is the default license of the video on YouTube.
- Click to open the combo box and you will see, in addition to the above license, there is one more license, namely: Creative Commons Attribution – CC BY (Creative Commons Attribution). It suggests that:
- YouTube videos have only 2 types of licenses: (1) Standard YouTube License (YouTube Standard License); and (2) CC BY.
- Change from YouTube’s standard license to CC BY and then click the blue Save changes button located at the top right of the screen to save the license change.
- Go back to the screen with the 3 videos lined up one by one as outlined above and you’ll notice the CC BY license sign appearing to the right next to the name of the video you just changed the license to. If you put the mouse pointer closer, you will see the words: Creative Commons ( reuse allowed ) – Creative Commons (reuse allowed). The license change was successful.
