If you don’t make your Twitter account private, it will be difficult for you to control who can follow your account. While there’s no official way to remove followers, you can still prevent other users from following your account by blocking, then unblocking them; as such, they will be removed from your follower list without receiving any notice of the change.

Open the Twitter app. It’s an app with a white bird icon on a blue background. Sign in to your account if you haven’t already done so.

    Click the Blocked button. This is the button in the upper right corner of the selected follower’s profile. Next, select Unblock from the menu that appears. After the click, they are no longer blocked but have been removed from your follower list.
  • Advice

    • You can visit a certain user’s profile to block them by clicking or tapping their name on your Twitter feed page or using Twitter’s search bar to find their name.
    • The blocked user has no other way to contact you on Twitter.

    Warning

    • If your account isn’t made private, blocking and unblocking your followers still gives them a chance to follow you back if they want to.
