  • The work and public service you undertake (describe your role briefly)
  • Mention accounts that others can contact for references (for example, you can write “Editor at @wikihow” instead of “WikiHow Editor” here)
  • One or two outstanding personal achievements (for example, “CEO of [company name]”)
  • A funny intro (as long as it doesn’t interfere with the rest of the information)
  • You can also elevate your position in some contexts. For example, if you own a “small business” that edits other people’s work, you could call yourself a “business owner” or even call yourself “CEO”.

Click Save changes in the top-right corner of the page. This will save and show your changes on your profile. Once your profile meets Twitter’s validation criteria, you’re one step closer to receiving the little check mark next to your name.
  • Advice

    • You can research verified accounts to see how they present themselves, if you need ideas. The easiest way to do this is to visit the Twitter Verified (@verified) account page, select the Fplowing tab, and view the verified accounts here.
    • Once the account is verified, some of your followers will be removed. [6] X Research Sources

    Warning

    • Don’t add a fake authentication check mark after your name. This does not impress others and may cause Twitter to delete your account.
    • Changing your username may cause you to lose your authentication trail.
    • Having a verified Twitter account doesn’t stop others from spoofing your account.
    • Your Twitter account will not be authenticated if the stories are protected, as the purpose of account verification is to bring attention to accounts that influence the community.
