Are you going on a date, sitting in math class or in a crowded room in a quiet place and suddenly want to fart? Ideally, you should be able to run outside and let loose with ease, but circumstances don’t always allow that. Sometimes, the only thing you can do is hold back your fart to avoid embarrassment. This article will show you a few ways to do that.

Squeeze your butt. Think about it this way: if there’s no space between your buttocks, your body’s air won’t be able to escape, right? Although it will be a little uncomfortable and won’t hold for long, if you squeeze your butt, you may be able to stop the fart. To do this, you have to really squeeze the anus and stay that way; Just relax and the amount of gas in the body will escape. With luck, when held long enough, these emissions will be “drawn back” into the body — but this is not a long-term solution and the farts can come back stronger.

Change posture. Sometimes you just need to sway a little to get the exhaust to move elsewhere in your body. Remember not to move suddenly or it will be easy to fart. Sit in a chair and lean forward. This is another strategy that is quite effective. If you are sitting and need to fart, put your hands on the armrests of the chair, put your weight on your toes, lean forward slightly, and gently lift your butt off the chair. This will probably prevent emissions because putting pressure on your toes and leaning forward will also help you tighten the anus somewhat.

Fart very slowly. If you’re in a crowded place and can’t get out and need to fart right away, it’s best to do it slowly. Make an excuse to go somewhere else. This is the easiest way to fart without embarrassment. If possible, just make an excuse to go out for a few minutes to handle your need to fart. You can borrow some of the following reasons:

  • Pretend to be on the phone
  • Go “check something” on the other side of the room
  • Get out and get some fresh air
  • Go wash your hands
  • Use the toilet

Eat less foods that cause gas buildup. Certain foods that are high in sulfur will make you want to fart more often — and make fart smell worse! Foods high in carbohydrates (carbohydrates) also cause you to fart more, but each person has different “sensitive foods”. However, you should not abstain from these foods completely, just limit them when you need to go somewhere where you don’t want to have to fart. Foods that produce a lot of gas in the body include:

  • Certain vegetables such as beans, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, onions and mushrooms
  • Fruits like jujubes, peaches and pears
  • Whole grain foods
  • Dairy products such as cheese, yogurt and ice cream

Avoid eating or drinking too quickly. Another cause of gas building up in the body is that you swallow food or drink too quickly and don’t give your body the time it needs to digest. When you eat, try to eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly one by one. Don’t eat on the go, or try to slow down and eat a few minutes before you have to move. If you like to drink soda, try to drink it slowly, not in a hurry to avoid making farting worse.

Avoid chewing gum or sucking on hard candy. The act of chewing or sucking on candy can actually make you fart more, especially when you’re hungry. So, limit your chewing gum and lollipops to avoid embarrassing situations. When you chew quickly, you swallow more air, causing the food in the stomach to be split by the air and causing gas. You can take certain medicines such as Beano, Gas-X, Mylanta Gas, or Lactase tablets. These drugs break down sugar in the body, making it easier to digest food. However, you should talk to your doctor before taking medication to find the most suitable drug.

    • If you can’t hold it and fart out loud, don’t worry about it. People won’t remember for long. Just laugh out loud and people won’t make fun of you.
    • If you’re in a situation where you can’t hold your fart, or you can’t fart loudly, such as in a meeting, you can try to fart in many small sounds. Squeeze your buttocks, then slowly release one side and deflate. You can fart three or more times, but the sound is definitely softer than a one-time fart.
    • If you must fart, pretend it’s the sound of your shoes rubbing against the floor. Or if you’re using water, pretend it’s the sound of a straw rubbing against a cup.

    Warning

    • Even if you hold your fart, the excess air will definitely return, the more you hold it, the more uncomfortable it will be and the louder the fart sound will probably be, the more unpleasant the smell will be.
    • While in the process of “slowly deflated”, make sure that nothing worse than the gas comes out.
    • Don’t hold your fart for too long. If you hold your gas for many hours, your intestines will start to hurt and if it’s severe, you could end up in the hospital.
