How to Continue Using Windows 7 Without the Key

Windows 7 needs to be activated for use within 30 days. You can use the “rearm” command in the command line to refresh the activation grace period. Note that the rearm command can only be used 3 times and extends the trial period to a maximum of 120 days.

Press the ⊞ Win key and type “Cmd” into the search bar. The Command Prompt command line program will appear in the search results.

Right-click Command Prompt and select “Run as Administrator”. Command prompt will be opened as Administrator.

Type “slmgr -rearm” into the command line and press ↵ Enter . A script will be executed, after a while the system will ask you to restart the computer.

Restart the computer.

Check your activation status. Right click on “Computer” and select “Properties”. The System Properties window will appear. Your trial period will be reset to 30 days.
