This article shows you how to project video and audio from your computer to your TV by using an HDMI cable, DVI or VGA cable, or by wirelessly transferring data to a smart TV or data transmission device. . HDMI connections can transmit high-quality video and audio via dedicated cables. VGA is an older type of connection used only for video transmission, so you need to transfer audio from your computer to your TV by connecting an additional audio cable. Although some DVI ports on computers support audio playback, most devices do not. Refer to your computer and TV manuals to see which connection type you should use.

Connect the computer to the TV using an HDMI cable with the same ends. The HDMI ports on the computer and on the TV are the same, and the HDMI cable must also have two identical connectors.

Connect the computer to the TV using a DVI or VGA cable of the same end or a regular cable. The DVI and VGA ports on the computer must be the same as the TV, and the cable must also have the same two connectors.

Connect the computer to the TV using the audio cable with the same ends. This is a 3.5mm audio cable, similar to the connector of a headset. Attach one end of the cable to the headphone connection port on your computer, which is usually the green port. The next thing is to connect the other end to the audio input on the TV.

Make sure you have the right cable or adapter. Sometimes the cable has a suitable connection but is not used for the purpose of transmitting audio or video signals. So make sure the cable is dedicated to audio/visual.
