Each picture pendant (also called a locket) is quite different, but preparing a picture for nesting should be fairly straightforward if you know the dimensions. Try to measure the pendant to the nearest millimeter. You can then use a home printer, order it online, or visit a print shop in person. Either way, it’s easy to get a nice picture to insert into the pendant.

Measure the pendant’s photo frame size (if possible). The pendant will have a frame around the picture cage area. You need to specify the size of this space. If possible, use a ruler to the nearest millimeter.

  • Use a ruler or tape measure to measure the pendant size.
  • The measurements will tell you the reference point to use when resizing the image.

Estimate the frame size if it is difficult to measure. If you can’t measure the frame of the pendant, measure it. Usually, the photo frame will be about 1 mm or more smaller than the pendant.

  • You’d better estimate larger to subtract loss, because we can trim the edges of the image if it doesn’t fit.

With circular pendants, measure the diameter instead of the width. Round pendants are harder to measure because they don’t have straight edges. You need to measure across the circle to determine the diameter. This parameter can be used as an approximate width. You can estimate the height based on the top and bottom of the circle.

  • It’s okay if your measurements aren’t accurate. Try to get the closest approximation and round up instead of rounding down. That way, you can crop the image if it doesn’t fit.

Upload photos to a website, computer program, or mobile app. You can choose from free photo editing websites like resizemypicture.com or Web Resizer. Besides, the app stores also have many choices for mobile devices. Or you can try your hand at a computer program like Paint, Microsoft Office or Photoshop. Select the photo you want to include in the pendant. [1] X Research Source

  • Some photo editing apps include Photo Editor, Photo Resizer or Image Size.
  • Some websites like Locketstudio.com can do all sorts of photo resizing. You just need to upload a photo, choose a pendant size, crop it and download it. [2] X Research Source

Adjust the image size in the settings. You can resize both the width and height, the zoom ratio, or the number of pixels (pixels). If the photo can be resized with different widths and heights, enter the pendant’s approximation. The image will be converted to the size you specify.

  • Where the image size needs to be adjusted as a percentage, start by specifying the ratio you want to reduce based on the current size. If this calculation is a bit confusing, you can try again and again until you find the right size.
  • To adjust the image size in pixels, you need to first determine the current number of pixels in the image. In the photo settings, select “Pixels” and scale the image based on the pixel measurement.

Save a resized copy of the image and then print it out. Once the photo size has perfectly fit the pendant, save it for later printing. You can save the file as an image format, such as JPEG.
