Select the source image. Here are three ways to do it:

If the image is online, you’ll need to type or paste the URL directly into the “Load from URL” line, then click Load.

Select the page size and format that you will print, such as A5 (148 mm x 210 mm) or US Letter (215.9 mm x 279.4 mm) from the drop-down menu.
Choose Portrait (portrait) or Landscape (horizontal) format.
The default margin size suitable for most home printers is 10mm. Margins are important because most printers do not print the entire border of the paper. If the margin size is too small, part of the image will be cut off when printing. Conversely, if the margin size is too large, you may need to trim the border.
The Overlap feature makes it easier to stitch photos together after you’ve cropped the margins, as images on adjacent sheets will overlap slightly. Check the box for “Overlap pages by 5 mm” for best results.

Select the poster size. The “Output size” section determines the poster size based on the number of sheets of paper put together into the image. The larger the amount of paper, the larger the poster size.

Enter the amount of paper in the first box.
In the drop-down menu, select wide or high .
- For example, if you enter 6 in the “sheets” box and select wide , the image will be 6 sheets of paper horizontally (wide). Rasterbator will determine how many sheets of poster height to fit the image.
- If you choose tall, it means that the image is 6 pages tall, and Rasterbator will also determine the width based on the image size.
The grid lines on the preview will tell you how many pages to use.

Select the last style settings. These options will vary depending on the style you have selected.

If you don’t choose a style, you can still browse through the drop-down menu at the top of the screen and add a few more effects to your work. If you decide not to use more effects, choose Enlarge from the menu.

You need to make sure that the printer is not set up for duplex printing. To print posters properly, each page must be on a separate side.

If you use Windows, check to make sure that the “Print on both sides of the paper” option is NOT ticked.
If you’re using macOS, you’ll need to select Layout from the drop-down menu in the middle of the printer screen, then check to make sure that the “Two-sided” option is set to None. (Are not).
