Put 1 or 2 sliced bananas in the blender. It is best to use the frozen variety. Only ripe bananas are enough. Once the bananas are frozen, there is no need to add much ice.
Add ½ cup milk and 1 cup ice to blender. If the ice has been crushed, the blender will be easier to operate and the process will be faster.

  • What kind of milk do you use? The choice is up to you. If you want to control calories, choose nonfat, soy, or almond milk. If you want a richer taste, choose 2% milk or coconut milk.

Add 1 ice cream. This is the step for you to express your creativity. Vanilla ice cream is often the choice and will enhance the flavor of bananas but now you have many other options. If you want a variety of flavors in your milkshake, try combining them. What flavor are you craving?

  • Choose from a few other flavors like peanut butter, chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, strawberry, coconut, mango or coffee. If you like the rich taste of bananas, add bananas.
Add 4-6 crushed almonds. This adds flavor and improves milk texture, but is not required. If you don’t have almonds on hand but want to add something to your milkshake, you can use ½ cup of oats, quinoa, or peanut butter.

  • If you like almonds, you can increase the amount!
  • Now add vanilla essence if you want. This will give the milkshake a natural vanilla flavor.
Blend ingredients until smooth. If the ice sinks to the bottom of the blender, stir it with a spatula when stopping between blends. If you don’t have to stop a lot, blending will take about 1 or 2 minutes.
Add sugar according to taste. It’s finally time to get your hands on a milkshake. Take 1 tablespoon of milk and taste it to estimate how much sugar you will need. You can replace it with honey if you want a natural sweetener or on a diet. Take 1 or 2 teaspoons of sugar is enough.
Pour the milk into the cooled cup. When using a cold cup, the milkshake will stay cold longer and thicken. If you have leftovers, then you should put them in the refrigerator or freezer to drink gradually when you crave.
Enjoy! The recipe above makes 2 servings. Next time, try it your way – bananas combine with so many flavors and serve as a base to create exotic combinations.

  • If desired, you can garnish with cherries, whipped cream, chocolate chips or crushed almonds.

Banana milkshake but no milk

Put 1 or 2 sliced ripe bananas in the blender. Choose frozen bananas for a colder and thicker milkshake.
Add 1 cup of ice and liquid of your choice. Shaved ice is better for the blender. For liquids, you can choose one of two types:

  • Milk alternatives such as soy milk, almond milk or coconut milk. Traditional milkshakes combine with chocolate, peanut butter, and other ingredients for a sweeter and more nutty flavor.
  • Fruit juices like orange, apple or pineapple make a great pairing with other vegetables like blueberries, mangoes, kale or spinach.
Add sugar and other flavors you want to try. Bananas are sweet enough without added sugar and if you use juice or coconut milk the mixture is probably sweet enough. But give it a try and see how it tastes.

  • For traditional flavors, you can use the ones mentioned in the step above, but the quantity depends on your preferences. If the milkshake is flavored with fruit, vegetables, chocolate or nuts, it will make the perfect combination. Take about ½ cup of ingredients depending on how intense you want the flavor to be.
Start grinding. Blend everything! This takes about 1 or 2 minutes. You will need to grind 1 or 2 times before you are done to be able to grind the ice fine. Adjust milk consistency by adding liquid or fruit.
  • Pour the milkshake into the cup and enjoy. This recipe makes 2 servings. If you have leftovers, pour into a glass and refrigerate to drink later.

    • Garnish with straws and whipped cream, cherries, chocolate chips, nuts or sliced fruit.

  • Advice

    • You do not have to use bananas, you can use other fruits.
    • All you need are bananas and ice.
    • Remember to grind the bananas very fine unless you want small chunks.
    • Add protein powder or flaxseed for added nutritional value or honey for a healthy, natural sweetness.
    • Remember to wash your hands before making a milkshake.

    Warning

    • Don’t put a spoon or anything in the blender while it’s blending.
