Open Start Windows Start

Open Device Manager. Type device manager , then click Device Manager in the Start menu and the screen will show this window.

  • If you’ve right-clicked the Start icon, just click Device Manager in the menu that appears.

Look for the “Bluetooth” heading. If you see a “Bluetooth” heading near the top of the window (under the letter “B”), your computer has built-in Bluetooth.

Verify your Mac has Bluetooth. If you see a “Bluetooth” sub-title, left-click to select it. After clicking, if you see Bluetooth information on the right side of the window, your Mac has Bluetooth built in; otherwise, the device does not allow Bluetooth.

    See results. If the next line in Terminal shows the name and manufacturer of Bluetooth, your computer has Bluetooth installed.

    • If you see a blank line, your computer does not have Bluetooth installed.
    • Note that some versions of Linux do not support a built-in Bluetooth adapter.

    • You can attach a Bluetooth USB to your computer to use Bluetooth if your computer doesn’t have a built-in adapter.

    Warning

    • The Linux operating system often does not recognize the Bluetooth adapter or USB, especially when your computer is old.
