How to Fill a Sim’s Need

This wikiHow teaches you how to fill a need for Sim members. You can do it using cheat codes on both the PC and console versions.

Turn on cheat mode. Type testingcheats on and press ↵ Enter . A confirmation message “Cheats are enabled” will appear on the left side of the window.

Find Sims. Find the Sim character you want to fill at least one demand bar.

See the needs of this Sim character. Select a Sim to see your character’s needs and see which bars are running low.

Fill a need for Sims. After determining the need to fill, open the cheat conspe again, enter the code fillmotive motive_ need (note: replace need with the need name) and press ↵ Enter . ^{[1] X Research Source}

For example, to fill a Sim’s “Social” bar, you’d need to enter fillmotive motive_social .

Fills all Sim’s needs at once. If you want to fill multiple needs of your character at the same time, you can use the cheat code “Make Happy”:

Fill the needs of the whole world The Sims. If you want to fill the needs of all characters, you can use the Sim world mailbox: ^{[2] X Research Source}

Go to the mailbox.
Hold down ⇧ Shift while clicking on the mailbox.
Click Alter Needs (Change Needs)
Click on Fill Needs (world).

Don’t forget to fill the demand for Sims periodically. Characters will still consume demand as usual, so you’ll need to re-enter the appropriate cheat codes periodically to ensure that Sims’ demand is always full.

Sims 4: on consoles

Find Sims. Find the Sim character you want to fill at least one demand bar.

Open the cheat menu. Hover your cursor over the Sim to select that character, then press the A and B (Xbox One) or X and O (PS4) buttons to open the cheat menu. Various options will appear.

Check the Sim’s status bars. All needs (except Environment element) will be filled immediately.

Advice

If you don’t want to use cheat codes, you need to monitor the status of each character and deal with low demand by creating conditions for Sims to meet their needs. For example, if a Sim’s “Social” demand bar is low, put that Sim in a room with lots of people to increase the character’s ability to socialize.

Warning

On the console version, you won’t be able to get achievements in the selected world if cheats are enabled (even if you turn cheats off afterwards).
