Ingredients for making Tet cakes

1kg green beans (soaked 4-6 hours)

3kg sticky rice with yellow flowers (soaked for 8 hours)

500g banana leaves (dried for 12 hours)

How to make tet cake
Step 1: The part of glutinous rice is divided into 2 parts : 2kg of glutinous rice soaked with pandan leaf juice and 400ml of coconut milk, the rest soaked with Camellia leaf juice and 200ml coconut milk. Soak the rice in the juice for 1 hour.
Then pour out the glutinous rice and stir-fry until the glutinous rice seeds expand.
Step 2: Mix green beans with sugar, 1 tablespoon salt and 1 liter of filtered water. Then bring to boil until the beans are soft, then remove to a plate.
Step 3: Put the cooking oil in a pot to boil, then put the green beans in the slug until the beans are hunted, no longer wet, then turn off the heat.
Step 4: Prepare a tray lined with foil to take out the green beans from the pot, put in it, wait for the beans to cool.
Step 5: Roll the foil in a circle, to shape the green beans into a cylinder. Then use a knife to cut into small pieces about 1cm thick.
Step 6: Use a wooden knife to cut the green beans into the text you want. You can pre-print the text on paper or use a piece of letter-shaped plastic, put it on green beans as a template to cut along for easy.
Step 7: Use a wooden knife to create a hole in the sticky rice circle (also about 1cm thick), corresponding to the word green bean. Then put the word mung bean inside the blank space of sticky rice.
Step 8: Spread a layer of pandan sticky rice on the surface of the banana leaf (cut in a square of size 20x20cm), then put the letters in , align and in the alphabetical order you want.
Step 9: Cleverly use banana leaves, roll the sticky rice and circle the letters . Remember to use a moderate force in this section, make sure the rice and the text stick together, but don’t get distorted.
Step 10: Fold the two ends of the banana leaf and roll it tightly, to keep the cake sealed, not in the water when boiling. Use twine to secure the cake.
Step 11: Put a layer of banana leaves on the bottom of the pot, then arrange the banh tet. Fill the cake with water and cook continuously for 4 to 6 hours . During the cooking process, remember to add water continuously so that the cake does not dry out or burn.
