How to Delete a Yahoo!

This is an article that shows you how to permanently delete your Yahoo account using Yahoo’s website and how to remove your Yahoo account in the Yahoo Mail app on iPhone or Android. Before deleting your Yahoo account, you should make sure you’ve canceled paid Yahoo services and saved your photos on your Flickr account if needed.

Visit the page to delete your Yahoo account. Type https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user in the address bar of your web browser and press ↵ Enter .

Scroll down and select Continue at the bottom of the information page.

This page lists the terms of account deletion and prompts you to cancel paid Yahoo services.

Enter the email address one more time in the field in the center of the page.

Click Yes, terminate this account to begin the account deletion process. After 90 days, your account will be permanently deleted.

Select Manage Accounts near the top of the drop-down list.

Select Edit in the upper right corner of the screen.

Select Remove to the right of the account. It’s the red button displayed to the right of the account you want to remove.

Select Remove when prompted. It’s the blue button in the window that just showed up. This will remove the selected account on the Yahoo Mail app, but not completely.

You’ll repeat this process for each account you want to remove from Yahoo Mail.

Advice

You will still be able to sign in to your Yahoo account for 90 days before the account is permanently deleted. This step is to make sure you can back up any necessary data before deleting your account.
