While the apps you download from the App Store aren’t actually stored in iCloud, for safekeeping the documents, backups, and other data of many apps are still on iCloud. Tap iCloud . This is the second set of settings. A page with various iCloud options will open and ask to sign in (if you haven’t already).

Use the sliders to turn off the app’s option to use iCloud. If you don’t want an app to sync data to iCloud, you can scroll down and swipe the app’s slider to the Off position (gray).

Click Manage Storage . This option is at the top of the page (above the list of apps), below the “iCloud” heading. A list of apps that use iCloud storage with their data will appear.

Tap an app to view stored data. Depending on the application, you may see a list of documents and other data that are stored in iCloud storage.

Click Delete Data . Some applications will display different options such as Documents & Data or Disable & Delete . The options you see will vary by application. After you tap it, a confirmation message will appear.

Tap Delete to confirm. This red link is at the bottom of the screen. All data and documents of the selected application will be saved to the iCloud account.

  • Repeat this operation with another application if necessary.
  • The steps above will not erase data in regular iPhone or iPad backups. If you want to delete app data from iCloud backup then continue with this method.

Click the Backups option from the menu. A list of all iCloud backups associated with the current account will appear.

Tap your phone or tablet. A list of apps backed up to iCloud will appear.

Tap the Show All Apps option to expand the list. All local app data stored in iCloud backups will appear. The amount of memory used by app data is listed below the app name.

  • This is the data used in restoring the device with an iCloud backup and will have no effect on the data that is currently stored locally.

Swipe the switch next to the application to be disabled to the Off position Iphoneswitchofficon.png

Tap Turn Off & Delete . As such, the backed up data will be deleted, and the application will no longer back up to iCloud in the future.

Manage apps that can sync to iCloud. A list of apps that are compatible with iCloud on your Mac will appear in the right pane. To stop an app’s syncing to iCloud in the future, uncheck the box corresponding to the app.

Click Delete at the bottom of the list. This button is located in the lower left corner of the data display frame. So the selected data will be deleted from iCloud. You can repeat these steps with another application.
