Turn on the iPad. iPad needs to be powered on to connect to the computer. If iPad is powered off, hold down the power button for a few seconds until the Apple logo appears. If your iPad runs out of battery, you’ll need to charge it before you connect it to your computer.

Open iTunes. iTunes always opens automatically when the iPad is connected to the computer. If not, you can open iTunes from the Start menu or a desktop shortcut to interact with your iPad.

Disconnect iPad when done. After syncing content on your iPad, right-click your iPad in the “Devices” section of the sidebar. Select Eject . iPad will be safely disconnected from the computer.
