How to Install Google Chrome Using Terminal on Linux

This is an article on how to install Google Chrome browser in a terminal window on Ubuntu or Debian Linux. All you need to do is use the “wget” tool to get the latest stable version of Chrome and install it using dpkg. After installing Chrome, you can type “google-chrome” into the command line to start the program.

Press Ctrl + Alt + T to open a terminal window.

Update the installation program repository. To make sure the system is up to date, you need to run the following two commands:

Once the installation program download is complete, you will return to the command line window.

Install the downloaded Chrome installer. To install Chrome from a downloaded program, you need to use the following command:

Type sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb and press Enter .
