Apply ice cubes to the kiss mark. Applying an ice pack to the kiss mark as soon as possible can help constrict blood vessels and reduce swelling. This can help fade the kiss mark. [2] X Research Source

  • Wrap ice cubes in a clean cloth to minimize the risk of frostbite. [3] X Research Source You can also apply a cold spoon to the mark, but be sure not to rub it on your skin. [4] X Research Sources
  • You can use a bag of frozen vegetables, such as beans, or freeze a cup of ppystyrene water to use if an ice pack is not available.

Eat foods rich in vitamin C and vitamin K. Vitamin C and vitamin K deficiencies can make you bruise easily. Eat foods rich in vitamin C and vitamin K or talk to your doctor about taking supplements.

  • Some foods rich in vitamin K include kale, spinach (spinach), broccoli, liver, and eggs. [12] X Research Source
  • Good food sources of vitamin C include strawberries, blueberries, red raspberries, sweet potatoes, and red peppers. [13] X Research Source
  • It is often easier and better if you increase your consumption of certain foods instead of taking supplements. However, you can ask your doctor about taking supplements. Or you can talk to your parents about taking vitamins. If you don’t want to explain why, you can say, “In my health class, I learned about the importance of vitamins and I think it would be good for me to take more vitamins now.”

  • Talk to your doctor if you want to quit smoking. There are many medications and smoking cessation programs available that make it easier for you to quit.
  • If you are underage, smoking is not a good idea. The body is still developing and smoking can interfere with this process. Talk to a parent, trusted family member, or school counselor if you start smoking. Explain to them that you want help to quit smoking and become healthier. While it can be a bit daunting, the benefits of quitting are well worth the effort.

Avoid massage and drainage. While massaging around your mark is hard to resist, you need to avoid doing so. [15] X Research Source Massaging around the kiss mark only makes the problem worse because it can bruise the skin and make the mark more visible. In addition, absolutely do not drain the blood in the kiss mark with a needle as this will cause further damage and can cause severe pain.

Leave the skin around the kiss mark alone. While some treatments speed up recovery and fade the mark, it will take some time to heal. Wear turtlenecks or turtlenecks. This will help conceal the kiss for a few days. Choose a turtleneck that completely covers the neck, or try an erect collar for a collared shirt. [18] X Research Sources

  • Turtlenecks are often a better choice because collared tops can’t completely cover the kiss mark.
  • Keep in mind that people may be suspicious if you wear a top that covers your neck for several days in a row. Therefore, it is advisable to try wearing a collar for 1-2 days and then switch to another method.

Hide your kiss with jewelry. This is a lovely way to hide a kiss, while also adding a pop of color to your outfit. Scarves, bandanas, or even small pieces of jewelry, such as necklaces, can temporarily mask a kiss mark. [19] X Research Source

  • Just like when you cover your kiss with your clothes, people might get suspicious if you choose to hide your kiss with jewelry for days on end. You should try to create a variety of jewelry used and then switch to another way after 1-2 days.

Use your hair to hide your kiss. If your hair is long, you can cover your neck. This isn’t a great solution for covering up a kiss throughout the day, but it can be used if you need temporary cover. For example, this can help keep your kiss marks hidden from your parents. If they enter the room by surprise, you can quickly let your hair down to hide the kiss. [20] X Research Sources

Use green concealer to hide the kiss. Initially, the kiss mark is usually red. The green concealer will contrast that color, making the kiss mark appear to fade. [21] X Research Source

  • Apply concealer on the kiss mark. Don’t be afraid to apply too much. To cover up a kiss mark, apply as much as possible.
  • Use a concealer that matches your normal skin tone. Use a makeup brush to apply a layer of green concealer to the skin.
  • Gently use a makeup sponge to dab concealer around the kiss mark, until the color gradually blends in with your natural skin tone. Apply until concealer cannot be seen in the mirror.

Use pink concealer to cover when the kiss mark changes color. Kiss marks often turn yellow or bluish as they heal. At this point, you should change to a concealer with a pinkish tint to better hide the kiss. Apply pink concealer the same way you apply blue. [22] X Research Source Apply the concealer the same way you would apply the green concealer.

    Warning

    • There are many products and ingredients that claim to remove marks or bruises, but you should use caution. Remember that the kiss mark (and bruise) fades away as the body reabsorbs the blood, and you can’t speed this process up.
