Plant buds on the block of soil furthest from the spawn point. This keeps the tree away from the lava and avoids the loss of the tree (even the apple and its buds) to a fire in the future.

  • You can increase your chances of picking up shoots by using a few blocks of soil in the top layer to expand the base around the bottom of the tree.

Create a 2X2 sized water tank. You can craft a tank from two ice blocks in a reserve chest. You should have enough soil to create a 2×2 tank, but you can use the board block on the edge of the tank furthest away from the lava if necessary. This step creates an endless source of water because every bucket that draws water from this tank is automatically filled.

Create a cobblestone generator. One of the simplest ways is to dig a hole 4 blocks long and a second hole 2 blocks deep. Now pour a bucket of water into the hole 2 blocks deep and lava on the other side.

  • To create a basic cobblestone generator, follow this recipe (T=Earth, N=Water, K=Space, D=Lava):
    • T-NKKD-RED
    • T-K-D-D-K-RED
  • Another way to create a more complex generator can be done as follows: (T=Earth Block, K=Space Block, C=Cobblestone Block, N=Water and D=Lava)
    • KKNCD-RED
    • T-NN-D-K-RED
    • T-D-D-D-D-RED

“Mining” cobblestone from your generator. You can create cobblestone by mixing flowing water into lava.

  • You can combine the water source and the cobblestone generator if you want.

Furnace manufacturing (furnace/kiln). Use the crafting table to create a furnace from eight cobblestone blocks and burn one block of wood using the second spare block as fuel to get the first charcoal. Then craft the torch.

Continue creating and harvesting cobblestones. After you have a certain amount of cobblestone, expand to the bottom area of the island and collect land, but don’t touch the cobblestone generator.

  • If you craft a cobblestone slab, you can expand the surface area twice as much as using the same amount of raw materials. This way of making cobblestone also has the benefit of preventing monsters from respawning in dimly lit areas.
  • You only have a limited amount of land mass. One way to avoid losing ground blocks is to create a platform or “tray” below your sky block to catch anything that falls.
  • You can do this by digging a one-block hole in the cobblestone and pouring a bucket of water in, creating a waterfall you can swim down into.
  • Dive down and place 4 cobblestone blocks in a downward facing column/tower. Swim upwards to catch your breath, then dive into the water to place a block in each corner of the column at the bottom of the column, just below the original hole… and then swim back up.
  • Jump out of the water and use a bucket to get water.
  • Place a ladder and climb to the bottom of the block at the angle you set it to and build/expand an additional floor or “tray” 4 blocks below the original sky block.
  • Expand the “tray” below the main floor. This place can be left in the dark to make a monster generator or lighted up to stop monsters depending on the player’s wishes.

Consider creating a mob spawner. You can do this by building the background without light. If you do, you can pick up a lot of things that monsters drop, such as fibers, bones (bone meal for gardening), specialized tools, etc..

  • Since there is no iron (iron), you cannot use the hopper. Instead, you just run along the edge and manually pick up the things that fall.

Consider creating a “pasture”. The lawn should be 24 blocks away from your main build area to spawn animals for food and other resources.

Play your own way. What to do next is up to you. You can expand the house, create a more efficient monster generator, create a large monster farm… there are countless things you can do. SkyBlock game will end when you have passed all the challenges, or can’t progress any further without cheating.
  • Advice

    • If you accidentally turned lava into obsidian, right-click it. The obsidian will turn back into lava.
    • In fact, there is a way to get more iron (iron). One of those ways is to create an iron farm.

You can do this by creating an artificial village and allowing villagers to breed. Once there are enough villagers in your “village”, Iron Man (Iron Gpem) will start appearing to protect the villagers. Then you can kill iron man to get more iron.

    • If you’re new to the cobblestone generator, look for some designs so you don’t accidentally turn lava into obsidian.
    • In version 1.0 and later, animals will spawn more than 24 blocks away from your location, so don’t expect too much to use them as food or resources. Instead, build a monster generator in a dark room for yarn (wop) and use the farm to make bread.
    • Cover the water so it doesn’t freeze or place a torch next to it. Any “roof” above the water can help you accomplish this. You can also use a “roof” to keep your garden from getting snowy in cold environments.
    • Leave some grass behind until you can create the farm needed for seed collecting and animal spawning. You can always plant grass along the soil and clean it up later. Note that you need to build the ground at least 24 blocks away from the main base to spawn the animal. Light up this background to fight aggressive monsters. Create a minimum size of 5×5 field or grass and wait. Kill any useless animals (like horses and donkeys as they require a saddle, which is not available in SkyBlock) so that edible/useful animals are spawned in their place. Sheep are very useful animals because they shed both wool (for bedding!) and lamb (for food!).

    Warning

    • Monsters will spawn 24 blocks away from the player, so light up the background as you proceed to expand it so monsters don’t bother you during the day.
    • You cannot sleep in SkyBlock if you are playing on a server, because there are many other people playing SkyBlock on that server.
    • Store the bucket because you can’t have more buckets.
    • The reason why a player cannot continue is:
      • No more shoots to plant trees
      • No way to get more seeds (no more grass)
      • Losing too much land (no farm or tree)
      • Loss of sand (no cactus or glass farm)
