Notice if their posts are all public. Usually these posts are below the space (if any). If every post has a “Public” globe to the right of the timestamp of every post, that means you can only see their public posts.

This does not necessarily mean that you are restricted, it is also possible that this person only posts posts in public mode.

Find content that is suddenly missing. If you’re not seeing images or content that you’ve seen before, you may have a restriction.

Ask a mutual friend to view the person’s timeline. Even if you can’t see the person’s private posts or pictures, it’s possible that they just deleted the old information and locked the account to keep it private from all of your Facebook friends (not just you). You can verify this by asking a mutual friend to check their timeline to see if they see anything different from yours.

Even if that person recently posted an article and you haven’t seen any account activity for the past month or so, just ask them.

Ask if the person restricts you. There’s always the possibility that this action is just a mistake because the “Restricted” list is near the custom list item.
