Open Snapchat. The yellow app has a white ghost lying on the screen, or in some folder on the Home screen.

Snap snaps. Tap the Capture button to take a photo, or long hold to record a video. This large circular button is at the bottom of the screen and will disappear when you’re done shooting. Once the photo or video is recorded, you can customize the snap with text, drawings, and stickers.
- Tap the pencil icon in the upper right corner to draw on the snap. You can change the stroke color by clicking the color range icon below the pencil image. A range of colors will appear when you click on the pencil icon, and the pencil also displays the current color of the text.
- Click the T icon in the upper right corner next to the pencil image to add a caption. A virtual keyboard will appear in the bottom half of the screen and you can start typing. Tap the T again to choose a different color, or make the text larger.
- Click the square icon next to the letter T at the top of the screen. The sticker menu will appear. Select the sticker you want to add to the snap. You can also add Bitmoji emoji from this menu.
- Tap the scissors icon to create your own sticker. This allows you to copy and paste anything into the snap.

Tap the snap you want to save. The Snap will open and you have 10 seconds to review it.
- You can only view snaps once a day. You cannot view or take a screenshot of a snap that you previously opened and closed, unless you take a snapshot of the snap immediately during playback.
