You don’t have to go to a weapon shop to get “ninja darts” or “Shuriken”. Instead, you can make one or more paper darts that are both cheaper and safer. This is also a great game for you to play with your child.

Make a Square Piece of Paper

Start with a rectangular piece of paper. Soft paper or regular colored paper is fine. We will create a square from the given piece of paper. If you’re starting with square folded paper, skip the next two steps.

Fold diagonally of the square. Fold the top right corner diagonally so that the top of the paper fits snugly over the left edge, creating a pointed end in the upper right corner.

Discard excess paper. Cut or tear carefully along the edge, you will get a square piece of paper.

Fold Sections

Double the square. Folds parallel to the edges.

Cut squares in half. Cut the square into two equal parts. Paper scissors will make this easier.

Repeat. Fold each piece of paper in half lengthwise, parallel to the length of the paper.

Fold the ends of the paper. Fold the ends of the paper diagonally so that the edges overlap.

Repeat. Repeat this step at each end of the paper, making sure the folds follow the direction shown in the picture.

Create triangular folds. Fold the top of the paper over diagonally. As a result, you will create one large triangle facing you and two smaller triangles near you.

Repeat. Repeat the above step for each end of the paper. Make sure the folded triangles are facing each other as shown in the figure.

Sticking the Folded Shapes together

Rotate the left fold and line up the two folds as shown.

Place the right fold on top of the left fold. When lined up like that in the middle, it will create a square, if you haven’t seen it, don’t worry. Just fold the folded figure in the center.

Fold the top of the lower triangle diagonally and tuck it into the slot between the two sheets of paper.

Flip the bottom side up.

Fold the right corner diagonally and tuck it into the slot between the two sheets of paper.

Fold the left corner, which is also the last point diagonally, and tuck it into the slot between the remaining two sheets of paper. You may have to choose a bit to do this.

Glue the tape to the center of the part you just inserted the folds in, so the dart won’t come loose.

Advice

Make sure to close the folds of the dart. Otherwise, the darts will not look sharp and neat enough as required.
Cut the lines more sharply and fold the crease more closely.
