We can delete comments and posts on Facebook using the mobile application or the website on the computer. You can delete your comments along with comments posted by other people on your posts, but you can’t delete comments that belong to other people’s posts. Alternatively, you can also delete your own or other people’s posts on your timeline.

Open the Facebook app. You can delete any valid comments using the Facebook mobile app. You’ll need to make sure you’re signed into an account that can delete the comment.

Open the Activity Log. Activity Log keeps track of all the comments and posts you’ve posted. You can find specific comments quickly thanks to the Activity Log. To access the Activity Log:

  • On Android – Tap the Menu button (☰) in the upper-right corner, then scroll down to “Activity Log.”
  • On iOS – Tap the Menu button (☰) in the lower right corner, then tap “Settings”. Select “Activity Log” from the new menu.

Find the comment to delete on your post. The Activity Log will only show the comments you’ve posted. If you want to delete other people’s comments on your post, open that post.

  • You can delete comments you’ve posted on other people’s posts, as well as comments people leave on your own. We can’t delete other people’s comments on posts that aren’t ours.

Open the comment’s task list. In the Activity Log, click the “v” next to the comment you want to delete. If you’re deleting a comment right on the post (but not the Activity Log), long-press on the comment to open the task list. [1] X Research Source

Click “Delete” to delete the comment. You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the post’s comment. If the “Delete” option is not available, you are not allowed to delete the comment.

Find the post you want to delete. You can delete posts that you have posted, or content that others have posted on your wall. You cannot delete posts that are out of your ownership.
