6 ways to effectively clean the iron surface

Clean the ironing board with salt

Prepare tools :

• Salt
• Gloves
• Old cotton towels or paper towels

To clean your iron with salt, you need to do 4 steps :

• Step 1 : Place a paper towel or an old cotton towel on your face ironing board (Figure 1).
• Step 2: Sprinkle a tablespoon of salt on the towel/paper. You should use sea salt or coarse salt. Because the larger the salt, the faster the soleplate will be cleaned (Figure 2).
• Step 3 : Next, you power the iron and adjust the highest temperature and remember to turn off the steam ironing mode (Figure 3).
• Step 4 : Finally, gently press the soleplate on the salt layer and move the iron (like an ironing action) 1-2 times . At this time, the scum will stick to the salt, the soleplate will peel off (Figure 4).

Clean the iron with vinegar and salt

Prepare tools :

• Salt
• Vinegar
• Gloves
• Dishwasher Pads
• Toothbrush with fine bristles

To clean the iron with vinegar and salt, you need to do 4 steps :

• Step 1: First, you pour vinegar and want to eat in a 1:1 ratio. Put it on the stove and cook until it dissolves and the vinegar is warm, then turn off the stove. You wait for the solution to cool down until it is still warm to use.
• Step 2: Before cleaning, you should wear gloves and dip the dishcloth into the boiling solution to rub on the iron.
• Step 3: Then, you take a brush with fine and thick bristles to scrub the spots to be cleaned on the soleplate. Then, use a soft cloth to wipe it again with a little vinegar. Note: Do not use sharp cleaning pads to avoid scratching the surface of the base.
• Step 4: Once done, wait for the iron to dry and plug it in to try it out.

Clean the ironing board with dishwashing liquid

Preparing instruments:

• Dishwashing liquid
• An old towel or cloth

To clean the iron with dishwashing liquid, you need to do 3 steps:

• Step 1 : Before cleaning the iron, add a sufficient amount of dishwashing liquid to warm water and stir to create foam (Figure 1).
• Step 2: Then, you dip the cloth in water until it feels enough to clean the iron (Figure 2).
• Step 3: Next, you proceed to thoroughly clean the soleplate of the iron (Figure 3). You can also use this solution to clean the outside of the iron. After you’re done, wipe it with clean water and wait for the iron to dry before using it.

Clean the iron with a cotton swab

Prepare tools :

• Vinegar or vinegar solution into desired (see method 2).
• Cotton swabs

To clean the iron with a cotton swab, you need to do 4 steps :

• Step 1: Before doing this, you should prepare vinegar or vinegar solution into table salt. Then you dip the cotton swab in the prepared solution (Figure 1).
• Step 2: Then, you proceed to use a cotton swab to wipe each hole with steam, rotate the cotton swab to remove all the dirt (Figure 2).
• Step 3: After completing step 2, you use another cotton swab to clean again in each vent to clean more (Figure 3).

Other ways to clean the surface of the iron

Baking Soda: Mix water and baking soda in a 1:1 ratio to form a paste. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and wipe it on the soleplate, then take another cloth to wipe the baking soda mixture off the soleplate.

If baking soda is left in the vent, turn on the steam mode to let the water spray out and remove any remaining baking soda. Finally, you wipe the soleplate again with a dry towel and the iron is completely clean.

Distilled water and vinegar: Mix distilled water (or filtered water) with white vinegar in a ratio of 1:1 and then pour it into the iron’s water tank. Turn on the steam mode, iron a thick cotton cloth for 5 minutes . After ironing, pour the mixture into the water tank and wipe the soleplate with a clean cloth.

Toothpaste: First you unplug and wait for the iron to cool down, then you squeeze the toothpaste and then sweep it on the dirty part of the iron.

Use a damp cloth to thoroughly wipe the soleplate of the iron and remove the toothpaste. When done, turn on the steam ironing mode and iron a towel for 5 minutes, the soleplate will be clean and beautiful right away.

Candle wax : It can be said that candle wax is one of the items that can clean irons very effectively. You just need to plug in the power for the iron to heat up, then sweep the top of the candle, until the candle melts and picks up the stains and thanks to that, the iron surface will be clean.
