Original Character [17]
An Original Character is, in the simplest terms, a new character created in a Fan Fic or other work that does not come from an existing copyright work. Any and all Characterization Tropes can apply, along with employing any and all tropes in general
The vast majority of fanfiction makes use of these, ranging in importance from being background extras to stealing the spotlight of the canonical characters.. Series that are structured around new characters every week such as Monster of the Week, Victim of the Week, or Girl of the Week actually require that the author create original characters in order to maintain the Original Flavor of the series
Attempting to list every instance (or even every “notable” instance) is rather pointless—they are almost as numerous as fan fics themselves. Indeed, TV Tropes does not permit articles for original characters unless they appear in a published work, and then only in Characters subpages of that work.

Dive into anything [20]
it sounds like “original characters” just means “not popular characters” here, and that’s fine.. if we think about real people and personalities, people learn from their environment, a child has heroes they look up to and hope to emulate some day, people have friends with admirable qualities and sometimes it just “rubs off” on them
i think, what really separates an “original character” and a character you stripped from existing media, is just details. switch up the names, the spieces, the magic, whatever, and add details, complexity and nuance, and boom, “original character”.
There’s always a “smart” expositional character, there’s always the “sexy seducer/seductress”.. I have an expansive list of characters (mostly side) that I have details on
Apps on Google Play [21]
I love it!! The design from the gameplay, you have to option to play an ad for points and it doesn’t force you to play an ad at your own will. The only problem I had was with the picture feature, even if you’ve tapped the camera icon so many times it doesn’t really save the photo to your gallery
I like this app because it’s quite peaceful and I can make a lot of my oc’s. (it does have a lot of adds but that’s because it doesn’t get that much money for the game itself)
plus the camera feature is broken so I just have to screen shot all my oc’s love the app other then that. However for the past few months, whenever I open the game and it finishes loading, it does not bring me to the character creation page
Original Character Help and Resources [22]
Do you have any tips on getting to know your characters?? I feel like I’m not connecting to them properly :/. I was actually looking forward to answering this one when I opened up my inbox because one of my favourite things is character development and character driven stories!
I like to use those character questionnaires where you fill in eye colour, hair colour, star sign, likes/dislikes etc.. It doesn’t matter if you don’t fill all the categories in— some like ‘their Starbucks order’ might not be essential to your story or even fit with the setting
I’ll know that my character might like gold jewellery, but detest silver jewellery, and they love sugary coffee, but not tea (unless it’s green), and likes daisies, but not lilies because they smell like funerals. It’s not important to the story, but I can start to see who they are.
